Sara Gilbert, Latoya Jackson, and the hosts of 'The Talk' became the latest celebrities to denounce actor Kirk Cameron’s anti-gay remarks when they tackled the subject on Monday’s show. Like Cameron, Gilbert -- who's openly lesbian -- was herself a child sitcom actor when she appeared on 'Roseanne,' while Jackson is a former Jehovah’s Witness who saw first-hand the bias that some tie to religion.

Gilbert pointed out that one distinct danger of Cameron’s statement would be its effect on LGBT youth, saying “You really have to think about who you are hurting ... the kids out there who aren’t okay with who they are.”  She also noted, that “when [Cameron's] saying we’re taking apart foundations in society, I would argue that there is no one who fights for marriage more than gay people.”

Jackson recalled that while most Jehovah’s Witnesses share similar sentiments with Cameron, when she left the faith in her early 20s, she “looked at things differently [and she] saw things differently,” and agreed with Gilbert that Cameron was “sending the wrong message to children.”
